spring beauty + end of a chapter

The coveted ramps at the Union Square Greenmarket. Spring is here!

I can't believe I'm standing here, on the other side of it all. Yep, I graduated. After 2 years of hard work, thousands of pages of reading, what must amount to hundreds of pages of writing, I now proudly hold a Masters degree. So how does it feel?

duck, coffee, happiness

This past weekend I had a long weekend for Presidents Day and Joe came to visit. Even though I still had work to do (that thesis still seems to be hanging around...how strange...), it felt like a bit of a stay-cation for me. Here is a rundown of the first half of our weekend. Pictures are taken by both Joe and I on his lovely Canon Rebel.

Cupcakes, Farmers Markets and so forth

So I discovered my current favourite cupcake place and it happens to be like, 5 minutes from my house. It's called Butter Lane. What more do you need to know??

Me inside Butter Lane. Look at the wallpaper!
YUUUUUUUUM! Their vanilla buttercream has flecks of vanilla bean in it.

Long weekend adventures

I'm starting to really like it here. That doesn't mean I'm totally comfortable or that I don't go running back to my room sometimes to watch the Sopranos and shut out the noise and chaos of the city, but goddamn this place is amazing.

On Saturday I woke up and went to the Union Square farmers market. There is so much amazing produce it blew my mind, and it happens 3 times a week, five minutes from my house.

Herb and tea man. Purchased small bag of Zatar spice mix.
About as congested as the Halifax farmers market
